Condensed Bio
Grew up, dropped out, and became a freelance wandering spirit at age 23.
Moved out of New Jersey in 1972, headed for California. Got side tracked in Colorado for 13 years before making it to California. Lived in Santa Barbara for 5 years, but always missed the Rockies.
Moved back to Colorado in 1990. Passion for wild things and places became insatiable. Mountain climbing, Search & Rescue , mountain biking, hiking and studying nature in the rough became full time pursuits.
Started a career as a freelance nature and adventure sports photojournalist in 1993. (Published editorial credits include; Natural History Magazine, Nature Photographer, Sierra Club, Escape Magazine, Summit Magazine, Dog Fancy, BIKE, Mt Bike, Rocky Mountain Sports, Cycling Athlete, NORBA News, and Rock & Ice Magazine).
Began doing art shows in 1999. It's just as competitive as the editorial venue but is more up my alley. (Go to Art Show Schedule) I love meeting people at the shows, but would rather be spending my time enjoying the company of wolves.
My Gear
I use Nikon gear for wildlife. Two N90s, 1 F4, and an FM2 for bodies. Lenses include a 600 f4 w/ TC 1.6af converter, 80-200 f2.8, 24 f2.8, 60 f2.8 micro, 300 f4 and a 35-70 f4.5, all Nikon glass.
For the scenic shooting I use a Wista 4x5 field camera, A Nikon 210mm, and a Schneider 90mm lens.
